Shayan De Luna-Bueno hails from the Northern Philippines, on the island of Luzon from the Itneg Tribe and an adopted member of the Gitxsan First Nation. She is also a fourth year Political Science student at the University of Victoria. Shayan has several years of experience within grassroots community building, whether that be in communications, storytelling, panel discussions on anti-racist practices and facilitation. A huge part of the work that she does focuses on using an anti oppressive, intersectional lens while breaking down big academic language to foster solidarity.
